Polk State College finished 28th in the FLW College Fishing Southeastern Conference Open on Lake Okeechobee Saturday.
The Polk State Bass Fishing Club duo of Austin Bell and Forrest Greenfield of Winter Haven weighed in five bass totaling 7 pounds, 7 ounces.
The club (featured in The Ledger on Saturday) did not qualify for the regional tournament, limited to the top 15 finishers. There are three more tournaments to qualify for the regional. The next one is on Lake Guntersville in Alabama on March 2.
Lincoln Memorial University from Harrogate, Tenn., won the tournament with 17 pounds. Chris Hunt and Kyle Warwick won $2,000 for the club flipping green pumpkin 7-inch Berkley Powerbait Lizards on Little Grassy Island, according to FLW Outdoors.
Florida Gulf Coast took second with 16 pounds, 13 ounces, followed by Auburn (16 pounds, 11 ounces), Indian River State College (13 1/2 pounds) and Alabama (13 pounds, 6 ounces).
