There?s no doubt that the ?star? of the Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas is Sony Mobile?s flagship Android smartphone ? the Xperia Z, now, we?re yet to hear news regarding Sony?s plans on offering its latest and greatest here in the United States but our European folks over at the other side of the Atlantic may soon enjoy what the Xperia Z has to offer.
Here?s the good news! A recent report is suggesting that an authorized Sony retailer in Poland will start selling the Android Jelly Bean-packing Xperia Z handset on the 18th of February [only few weeks away] which is quite surprising given that a handful of smartphone retailers in the United Kingdom have already announced the Xperia Z will make an appearance on their shelves within March ? so, this means our Polish readers will no longer have to endure too long to get their hands on the water-loving super phone which is great.
Now, as for the bad news, the unlocked/SIM-free device will reportedly sport a hefty price tag of??680 as opposed to the slightly cheaper??530 (?650) offer from UK retailers, so that?s about a whopping $887 ? enough money to buy you a new laptop, we hope that the Xperia Z?s price will soon decrease when it starts to appear on store shelves all over the globe.
We?re yet to hear from Sony and other U.S. carriers regarding the Xperia Z?s availability but surely we?ll keep you guys posted if anything comes up. Similar to the flagship Windows Phone 8 of Nokia, the Lumia 920, it looks like Sony is taking the premium category and strategically planning the release date of the Xperia Z depending on available inventory and location.
